It All Leads To NowSample
Heart to Heart Conversations
One particular time I was feeling discouraged. Life seemed like a cliff that was growing higher while I clung to its edge. Was my personal growth keeping the same pace as the growing responsibilities of each day? I was living what I’d call a dream! But I was also fearing that it could become a free fall at any second. I was even a bit worried that God might sabotage it all, just to “teach me something.”
A wise friend reminded me of all that God had done in my life to bring me such a long way. Why would He now be my downfall? “Gregg,” he said, “the story is too good so far; He’s not going to fail you now.” I truly needed to hear that. A heart to heart conversation with a friend can keep you on the path.
If we’re going to look backward, we need to look back at Him. Reflecting back on all that God has done strengthens our faith in that He is able to take us on the next step. Our faith is weak and forgetful, so we need to remember that He is there leading us. He can be trusted more than the familiar things of our past or the frightening things in our future. Radical faith will take us farther than irrational fear; fear paralyzes, but faith energizes.
Irrational fear can strike anyone, anywhere. The army of your enemy may seem numerous, and the sea may look deep, but we’ve seen God’s hand. Let the work of the Lord in your past compel you in the present. Take the next step forward in faith. Even if your feet get wet in the sea, He’ll split the waves at the exact moment necessary. God’s will always has God’s power and His timing. He is telling a story with your life that shines with His glory, not your own. It is His name on the line, not yours — and He always protects His name.
Picture the stage set for another showdown of faith between God and Pharaoh. The venue has changed to a place by the sea. Pharaoh’s army is chasing down the freemen of God. They have no place to go. The sea is in front of them and a mighty army is in their back. It is time for God to show up, and He does, in a BIG way.

About this Plan
The story of the Red Sea crossing is one of the most famous in all of Scripture. Moses and his rag-tag bunch of slaves destroying the well-heeled army of Pharaoh appeals to the heart of anyone rooting for the underdog. This account can encourage us corporately and individually to live the life God intends for us. And brings together the principles we have explored about discovering God and His will.
