Daily New Testament - Quarter 3Sample
Mark tells a few stories that show people are more important than traditions. Tearing up someone’s roof is a pretty drastic action, but the paralyzed man was more important; it was more important to talk to Levi and his friends than it was to avoid hanging out with bad people; and satisfying hunger was more important than the rules about resting on the Sabbath.
Christianity sometimes looks like a system of dos and don’ts, not because of Jesus, but because of how Christians act. Too often Christians are better known for what they are against instead of being for people’s best. Today, how can you show acceptance for someone who lives differently than you do or take a risk to meet a need?
