Hope…

It can be defined as: “an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large. To expect with confidence”.

Hope is something we all need. It is as important to the health of our souls as water and oxygen is to our bodies. Hope is a dreadful thing to live without and yet, sadly, millions in this world wander through their every day devoid of this very necessary anchor of the soul. 

The Scriptures tell us that the soul can become deadened when there seems to be no hope, but when hope is present we become fully alive! For anyone who is a follower of Jesus, we have access to all the fullness of hope. 

Sure, we’ll have those moments when we allow the voices of our circumstances to speak louder than the truth. Even as Christians, the demands of life and the despair in this world can often feel overwhelming. And in those times, it’s easy to feel defeated or hopeless.  

But the writer of Hebrews reminds us that it is hope that leads us into the presence of God. Through Jesus we have full access to the deepest realms of what it means to have relationship with the Creator of the universe! There is no separation; we now live in Him and He lives in us! The God who saves, heals, delivers, redeems, restores, provides, protects, comforts, and loves… lives inside of you!

One last thought. This wonderful hope we have, we need to let it be seen by the rest of the world around us. Every day we interact with those whom God loves so very deeply. God’s heart is that all would come to know Him and be filled with the hope He has to offer. 

Hope changes everything. It isn’t wishful thinking or avoiding reality: it is confidence born from a relationship with the God who makes all things new.

These three things remain: Faith, Hope, Love. We hope you find greater confidence in our God who is always working for our good.
