BOAST IN THE LORD

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

What we boast about will reveal where our heart is. We boast about our children. The things that people normally crave for apart from shelter, clothing and food is wisdom, power and riches.

When we get these things, we get the feeling that we have already arrived or have reached there. We boast about these things throughout our lives and talk about it so much. We boast about all that we have achieved.

But, the Lord says: Let Him who glories glory in the Lord.

How much do we boast every day? Our boasting can cause us to stumble because there is pride in it, especially when we boast about power, wisdom and riches. Running after it can cause us to drift away from the Lord.

We boast about Him knowing and understanding Him. It is not knowing about Him but Knowing Him. It will help us have an intimate relationship with Him. Understanding Him will help us look at situations in life from His perspective.

True boasting in the Lord is actually boasting of the Lord—boasting of His great attributes, boasting of what He has done for us, of what He is still doing and of what He has promised to do.

How much of the Lord do we have? How much of the Lord do we boast about?

What efforts have we taken to know Him and understand Him? This is what delights Him.

Knowing Him will strengthen our relationship and our walk with Him, understanding Him will help us to look at situations in life from His perspective and to reveal the character of day more and more in our lives. Let us spend time talking about Him, projecting and exalting Him.

When we acknowledge the Lord in all that you accomplish, it makes Him happy that He is not forgotten. It also makes others understand that our lives are controlled by God.

In our hearts, let us believe and know that our God delights in our boasting about Him and Him alone.

Let this be our talk always of how much the Lord has done for us and what He means to each one of us.

Let us boast about this: that we understand Him and Know Him.
