Restore: God is restoring equality

In his relentless love, Jesus came to restore each of us to God and to heal the brokenness inside and between us. 

This is what Tearfund is working towards for some of the world's most fragile a poverty-stricken people, including Mbuti Pygmies of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). 

Over time, the neighboring tribe began to look down on the Pygmies and exploit their poverty and vulnerability. To address this, the leaders of the closest church in Madzangina are involving the Pygmies in community development, Pygmy leader, Motema, is hopeful of change: 

"This is a very important partnership, because it will allow us to have more standing and be like other people," he says. "This is an opportunity to unite all the people together. Through this partnership we hope other people are able to understand how we are living." 

Father God, thank you for creating us as equals, each of us made in your image. Please enable communities around the world to welcome this truth and treat each other with kindness. I realise this must start with me. In Jesus' name Amen.
