Lent Devotional: RestoreSample
Restore: God is restoring love
The Lord is about restoring people – physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually. God is restoring the love that has been broken in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) between the Mbuti Pygmies and the Bantu people.
Poverty is the social and structural legacy of broken relationships with God, damaged understanding of self, unjust relationships between people and exploitative relationships with the environment. Neighboring tribes consider Pygmies as inferior to them, using them to kill animals illegally, for illegal forest exploitation.
Our work in the DRC brings together all the communities, guiding them through five Bible studies that enable them to reflect together. As a result, the complex relationship of inferiority and superiority and the mistrust between these communities is being replaced by consideration, love, and the desire to work together as Jesus Christ’s disciples.
Let’s thank God for the tremendous impact that the work of our partners is making in many communities in the DRC, and please pray that these communities will be models for others.

Our goal is that the Mbuti Pygmies would be accepted as equals among other communities. Learn more about our work with the Mbuti Pygmies.
