Determined To Follow JesusSample

Ever been in the position knowing that Jesus is with you and He instructed you to do something?

You probably had no clue nor could you conceptualize the purpose of why God called you to do the specific task but you knew Jesus was in it and you were determined to follow him. 

What do you do when you clearly know Jesus is calling you to do something but you can’t grasp the full picture of the overall plan? 

As modern-day disciples, we are called to follow, believe, and trust Jesus. Trusting God, following Jesus, and living in obedience even when we question how things will work out will result in positive consequences in our lives. 

During the times of uncertainty even when you know Jesus is in it, remain determined and follow him despite what human reasoning is telling you, past experiences have taught you or what family, associates, and friends suggest to you. 

An example of someone determined to follow Jesus even though the instructions didn’t make any sense and he knew Jesus was in it was with Simon Peter. Jesus’ instructions to Peter were to “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch of fish.” Simon’s past experiences, human reasoning, and personal perspectives influenced his response to Jesus which was He worked all night and caught nothing (Past experiences), Worked to the point of exhaustion (Personal issues), but at your word I will do as you say and lower the nets again (Determined to follow Jesus even when it doesn’t make sense). 

Peter knew Jesus was in it, saw Jesus in it and believed and his obedience resulted in a net-breaking amount of fish which not only blessed him, his family, and business, Peter’s business partners were blessed and witnessed Jesus’ mighty glory and power. 

Although things are unclear when we see Jesus is in it we must exhibit obedience because we don’t know how our obedience will directly or indirectly lead someone to experience the mighty power of Jesus Christ whether it is on the job, classroom, workroom, church, gym, park, grocery store, gas station, beauty salon, restaurant, post office, courtroom or bus stop. 

No matter where you are when it is confirmed that Jesus is in it, follow Him.
