SoulSister: Galatians 2:20 [A Study On Identity]

DÍA 2 DE 8

IT’S NO LONGER I WHO LIVE

Galatians 2:20 ESV says, "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.

Are we alive? According to Galatians 2:20, yes, we are! How? Because Christ is now living in us. Colossians 3:3 says “For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.” In our new real life, Christ is our identity. He is who we are now. Our lives represent Him, and we were chosen and handpicked by God. It’s not me that's living. It's not you that's living. Christ is living, and He is living in us. Thank You, Jesus!

I don’t know about you, but I’m thankful for this new, real life we have in Christ. So why do we still have attitudes and bad thoughts? Because we are being made into the new creation, and it’s a process (2 Corinthians 4:16-17, 5:17).But during this process, we have to focus on the new life we have in Christ. That requires faith. Ephesians 1 and 2 are great chapters to meditate on because they tell us that we are God's own, and we are alive in Christ.

Not only are we alive in Christ, but we also have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP says: “For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].” When we receive Christ we are given the mind of Christ. He, by the power of the Holy Spirit, guides us by His thoughts and purposes. So the things that happen in our life [good or not so pleasant] is for His purpose. He’s working it all for our good (Romans 8:28), and we should believe and accept that. And this acceptance should be rooted in gratitude and humility, not pride and resentment.

With the mind of Christ that we have, our talk should change, our actions should change, and our minds should be transformed. We as believers can’t keep saying that we aren’t good enough, smart enough, or intelligent enough, if we believe Galatians 2:20. We must live and walk in the victory that is Christ Jesus.

SoulSister: Galatians 2:20 [A Study On Identity]

Where we came from or what we used to be does not define our identity. Our identity is not in our past; our identity is in Christ. In this SoulSister devotional with TiaMarie Arnold, we're going to study Galatians 2:20 everyday with other supporting scriptures, so that when we face identity challenges in our day-to-day walk, it will be the scripture that flows from within us.
