Embrace the Race: Persevering Through Challenging TimesMuestra

The First Step is Prayer
Nehemiah finds out his fellow Jews who returned to Jerusalem are in a very tough spot. The walls that should protect against any invading enemy are still not rebuilt. Without a strong defense around them to protect them, they were vulnerable to attack. Filled with compassion for those living in Jerusalem, Nehemiah felt compelled to pray.
Prayer should be our first response to combating the plans of the enemy. Nehemiah had no idea the challenges or opposition he would encounter as he began this journey to help rebuild the walls, but prayer was his first response. Often we can become discouraged with the world around us, but if we want to see lasting change, we need to first respond in prayer.
Daily Challenge
Take five minutes to pray for those around you. Bring the names of your family, friends, and petition God with one circumstance you would like to see changed.
