Living by Faith: In Evil Days and Good Days, for Myself and for OthersMuestra
Honor Your Own Word
“and since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke.’ We also believe and therefore speak.” 2 Cor 4:13
Oh, the wonders we would find if we treated our words with the respect they were designed to deserve. Oh, the impossible prayers that we would find miraculously answered if we knew the depths of the father’s loving ear to our voice! For He is a God who hears the first time. There is no need to beg. Only to believe!
Be careful that your repetitious prayers ascend to the Father with the fragrance of faith, not the fragrance of doubt. For if we doubt we are heard, we are either doubting His ability to hear or we are calling our status as His children into question—both are nonsensical! Cast out that orphaned mentality and rejoice, for you are in the Father’s house!
God deeply desires our words to carry weight like His. “For we are being transformed into His likeness in every way as we behold him in our gaze” (II Cor 3:18). This is our destiny as His children.
Do yourself a favor today and honor your own prayer. Pray once, then believe unwaveringly. Pray once, and act accordingly. It is powerful. No need to hammer a nail that is already holding the building together. But when you do pray again, stand in faith on the accomplishment of the first prayer and declare belief in His capable hands.
Life application
Do you catch yourself begging God? Turn that around and start declaring your status as a child of God.
Prayer
Jesus, forgive me for not respecting my own words. I reignite my conviction that You are a God who hears intently and instills your authority back into our mouths. Thank you. Amen!
