Stand Out: Living for Christ in a Corrupt World

DÍA 8 DE 12

Walk in the Light

6:1-11: In this passage, Apostle Paul addresses Christians who were settling petty cases before the non-Christian judges. He tells them that the church should be able to settle such disputes among themselves. Some of the believers were still living like the world. So, he condemns the unrighteous acts of the Corinthians and warns them that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom.

During the wilderness journey, we see that though the people of Israel came out of Egypt, Egypt was still within them. Similarly, even after getting saved, some Christians are tempted to go back to their old life. This happened to the Corinthian Christians. Some of them were living according to the pattern of their old life.

But since we have received a new life, we must live according to God’s Word. Since we were washed, sanctified, and justified (v. 11), our lives must demonstrate God’s transforming work. Even when we sin, we must quickly repent and forsake it. We cannot live in darkness anymore. Let’s walk in the light!

Prayer: Lord, help me to forsake deeds of darkness and walk in the light.
