Finding Purpose, Hope and Joy Through Jesus’ BirthMuestra
Day 9 – Adam and Eve’s Hope
Do you know that today’s verse shares the first instance of the gospel in the Bible? Some people call it the “protoevangelium.” This verse shares two elements that are crucial to Christianity—the curse of sin and God’s provision of a Savior through Jesus!
In today’s verse, we learn about one woman, Eve, whose offspring would be impacted by Satan. We learn how sin entered the human race. We inherited this sin nature from Adam.
Approximately 4000 years later, another woman comes on the scene. Mary, the mother of Jesus, brings the solution to the curse of mother Eve. Mary’s offspring would destroy Satan and ruin his plan. Jesus’ work on the cross would crush Satan and strip him of his authority. He would be defeated forever.
Genesis 3:15 reminds us that God had a plan all along and He shared it with us in the third chapter of the Bible. When sin entered the world with Adam and Eve, judgment was brought upon the earth. The result of this judgment is death and separation from God. While the world groans under this curse, God sent Jesus as the perfect sacrifice for sin, to die on the cross for us. He then rose from the dead, proving His power over sin. Our salvation comes in accepting God’s free gift.
Have you accepted God’s plan of salvation, prepared so many years ago?
