As a police officer, I am sometimes verbally attacked. Those who dislike police officers often try to get under my skin. Their verbal attacks can become exhausting and frustrating. However, knowing who I am in Christ allows me to reject their slanderous lies! Therefore, I am able to stand firm in Christ and Christ stands firm in me. A large part of fighting temptation is to know who you are in Christ. When you know who you are, you will know what to do. On the contrary, if you don’t know your identity in Christ, it is easy to be lured away and beat yourself up for your struggles. The truth is that Jesus took the beating for you! He lived the perfect life you should have lived and died the brutal death you should have died! He did all this so you could become a child of God! 

Regardless of how exhausted or beaten down you are, don't give up! God chose you specifically and nothing can defeat you!
