Here Jesus tells us what the greatest act of love is: laying down your life for your friends. Jesus did this in the greatest way when He laid down His life for our sins. There is no greater picture of love.
What does that look like for us? It is a daily laying down of my life in a way that puts the needs of others above my own. It’s a sacrificial giving to others. It’s saying what someone else wants or needs is greater than what I want or need.
For me, that is a struggle. But when I struggle I only need to look to Jesus and see what He has done on my behalf and let the gospel be the one thing that motivates me to show love to others by laying down my life for them
