Jesus Brings Freedom

Thoughts on the message

Demonic control is a terrible thing.  It destroys so much – a person’s life, a community; it puts fear everywhere.  It starts so simply though.  It starts with giving in to sin and then allowing that sin to control our lives.  Here we see the result of sin controlling a life.  

Look what happens when Jesus sets the man free!  It is amazing.  A person is set free.  The community does not know how to respond – Who is this that can set a person free like this?  They are actually more afraid of Jesus than the of the man.  That happens too.  When the power of Jesus is released, it is amazing.  The disciples saw it when He stopped the storm.  The people saw it with the freed man.  

Who is this Man?

Time to Pray

Father, we ask for things to show the power of the Name of Jesus.  Sometimes, it scares us because it is so powerful.  We do not want our world turned upside down that much.  Today I ask that my heart would be ready to receive whatever You have for me.  If it is wonderful – that is great.  If it challenges me more than I want – give me the strength to accept the challenge You give.  If it calls me to go places that make me uncomfortable – help me.  Because the Name of Jesus is worth following no matter what it costs me.  In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.
