Experiencing God At Home For Daily Family Sample
The Garden of Eden
Quick Start
When you think of God’s design and plan to make the earth, you can also be thankful for how He created you, too. How you look, your talents, your interests, your abilities, are all a part of how God made you—and God does not make mistakes. What do you like best about each person in your family?
Quest
What God creates tells us about what He likes and what is important to Him. God did not just throw everything together randomly—His creation had a very clear design and order as He fashioned it together. Just the right air, just the right temperature, just the right amount of water and sunlight and food all work together to support the animals and people. Isn’t God amazing? The wonderful variety of animals and plants; the amazing array of colors and textures; the way we get to enjoy the seasons; and even the way babies are born all say something about God’s love.
Quiet Family Prayer
Each family member has a special gift and a special role within the family unit. Thank God now for placing each member in your family and for how each person contributes to making your family what it is.
Quiet Times
Younger Kids: Read a Bible story about your favorite Bible character. Think about what made that person special. Take some time to thank God for making you special and completely unique.
Older Kids: Read Psalm 139:1–18. Your birth was not a random act of fate; God had amazing plans for you before you were even conceived. He deliberately formed and shaped you with purpose. If He took the time to make a garden as amazing as Eden, He certainly would make sure that He made you just as amazing. Thank God for making you exactly the way you are. Thank Him for the things you like about yourself, and ask Him to help you learn, develop, and grow so you can become all that He created you to be.
