What if you were made for this?
In the scripture we’re reading today, Jeremiah (who scholars believe is about 17 years old) has an encounter with God, and he writes down what God is saying to him. God is telling Jeremiah that he has a purpose and a calling; he is to be a voice to the nations. Jeremiah, probably overwhelmed by this, responds to God that he is young and doesn’t know how to do that. But God assures him that he can do what he’s been called to do because God is with him. Just like Jeremiah, God has chosen you, set you apart and is calling you. We are all called to reach people.
But how do you reach people for Jesus? God has already given you what you need to attract people to Him! God has given all of us gifts and talents to glorify Him and to reach people for Him. In Romans 12:6-8, we are encouraged to use the gifts that God has given us for His glory. Things that you like to do are gifts from God, and can be used to bring people to know Him. You may like to sing, or to write, or to make people laugh - all of those gifts can be used to glorify God and to bring people to Him. You glorify God when you use the gifts and talents He gave you for Him, and when you lift God up, people are drawn to Him!
Action Step: What are some gifts that God has given you? How can you use the gifts that God has given you to glorify God and attract people to God? Ask Jesus to highlight the gifts He has given you and to show you how you can use them to attract people to Him.
ract people to Him.
