Living Changed

DAY 3 OF 7

Purpose

God has a specific and unique purpose for each of His children. But it can be difficult to identify what your purpose is if you’re not used to listening for God’s direction in your life. Start by looking to the activities or causes that fire you up.

For me, it wrecks me to know any woman is so broken, insecure, and harsh with herself that she doesn’t see herself as worthy. For you, it could be a passion to bring clean water to other nations, to run a business with integrity, or to stay home to raise your children. Whatever it is, God has placed that passion within you and wants you to use it for His glory.

You don’t have to be the best at whatever it is you’re passionate about for God to use you. You just have to be willing. Your purpose comes from surrendering what you think, what you want, and what you need for what God wants from you and for you.

Ask God, “What gifts and talents have you given me that you want me to use?” He will answer you through the gentle nudges of the Holy Spirit. These nudges may come by reading God’s Word in the Bible, or through something a friend says to you. If you watch for his direction, He’ll show you the next step. He won’t give you the full roadmap because then you wouldn’t need Him anymore, and He wants a close relationship with you. But He will be faithful to light your path one step at a time if you’re willing to obey Him, even when it doesn’t make perfect sense.

Looking back, I didn’t feel like I had anything to offer. But in surrender, I told God, “I don’t know if you need this, but if you can use it, it’s yours.” I know all too well the doubts and questions. Now, I can see my past for what it is - God crafting me into what he had for my future.

It still amazes me that in spite of what we’ve done, God will use us if we’re a willing vessel. So offer what you have to Him, and see where He takes you.

Day 2Day 4

About this Plan

Living Changed

Do you often compare yourself to others or to society’s standard of what it means to be a woman? What if instead, you defined yourself by what God says about you and learned how to battle those creeping lies of the enemy? This plan will help you live each day with hope and confidence in Christ, knowing your identity rests in Him alone.
