Bible Survey: Part ThreeSample
Lamentations is also written by Jeremiah. Destruction has come upon Judah, just as Jeremiah had predicted, and now everyone is in mourning. Lamentations means “to cry out loud.”
In the depths of the suffering that comes with defeat, God feels like an enemy, but Jeremiah also sees that God will not abandon forever. In the midst of hopelessness, God is still the greatest hope.
Everyone goes through tough times. In those times, it can feel like God no longer cares, but in reality, that is when we should rely on God the most.
