Forty Days in the PsalmsSample

Seeing Jesus and His Ministry is clear in Psalm 30, written by King David. The Holy Spirit uses Scripture to foreshadow Christ, His Teachings, and His Life. The psalmist, facing death and enemies, cries out to God for help and is saved. This mirrors Jesus' Life, where He prayed for God's Help and was resurrected, defeating death and enemies.
Unlike us, Jesus didn't deserve death or God's Anger. He took on God's Wrath in our place, dying for our sins and rising again. We get to live in this Victory. Our past mistakes and sins may haunt us, but we should bring them to God in prayer. Psalm 30 can guide us in this.
For the first 21 years of my life, I (Josiah) was an enemy of God. Now, as a 41-year-old who belongs to Him, I pray, "I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me." God didn't let the devil destroy me. I cried for help, and He healed me. He brought my soul up from the land of the dead and restored my life.
We should sing praises to the Lord, for His Anger is but for a moment, and His Favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning. God has turned my mourning into dancing and clothed me with gladness. I will give thanks to Him forever.
When condemning thoughts and guilt come our way, we shouldn't let them stop us from praying. Instead, we should remember that Jesus took the penalty for our sins and opened a way of Salvation. We should get as close to Him as possible, thanking God for saving us and praying for His Mercy and Help.
RESPOND IN PRAYER:
Let us learn how to pray through condemnation, past sins, and guilt. Let's continue to seek God's Presence and live our lives for Him.
