Clean This HouseSample

In today’s Bible reading, there are a couple of things that I wanted to highlight. One is that when we have things in our homes that shouldn’t be there, it doesn’t just harm you, the owner, but also affects those in your home. Did you know that our obedience, or lack thereof, can affect our bloodline? It can bring blessings or curses. It can bring death or life. Daily, we make a choice. What will you choose? When you read Joshua 7, I am sure that Achan didn’t think that his life would have turned out the way it did, all because of an accursed thing. Secondly, I want to point out that in Acts 19, when the people got rid of these accursed things and cleaned their houses, Acts 19:20 says that the Word of the Lord grew in power and spread widely. I want my family to be saved and the Word of the Lord to grow and spread. I can’t afford these things or spirits in my house, nor can you, my friend. Let’s clean our house! Here are a few more steps that we need to add on and continue with from where we left off yesterday. Come on now. We’ve got work to do.

4. Get rid of the accursed things. You know some things don’t belong in your house. You don’t have to pray about it. You’ve known for some time now that you must eliminate it. Then there are things that you will have to pray about, seek the Holy Spirit for, and ask Him to direct you to those things that you need to get rid of. He will show you, but when He does, please obey. It has become an idol if there’s a struggle to eliminate it. Repent. Ask God to help you. Please get rid of it. Don’t gift it or give it to someone else, either. Throw it away. If God tells you to eliminate it, why would you give it to someone else? (The accursed things could be books, crystals, sage, pictures, etc. It’s not limited to what I listed. He will show you.)

5. Don’t burn any sage or anything else to “cleanse” the atmosphere of your home. Holy Spirit is enough. He is enough. Either you trust God, or you don’t. You don’t need Him or anything else to help cleanse your home of evil spirits. When we allow Him to do what needs to be done, He will do it. However, when we use other things, we open the door to other spirits, and instead of cleansing the atmosphere, we pollute it.

6. Repent. Yes, there are things that we need to repent from. The Bible says that we perish because of a lack of knowledge. Some of us are also perishing because we are stubborn and rebellious. Holy Spirit is trying to lead us somewhere. A posture of total surrender and the eyes of our understanding being flooded with light is necessary for the journey.
