Prayer JournalSample

Good morning (or evening or middle of the night)! It’s time to add to that prayer journal. But before you do, take a moment to review yesterday’s verse, Colossians 4:2. Do you remember the Bible verse tune? If not, go back and take another listen.
Okay. Today, we are going to ponder James 1:17a (HCSB), which says, “Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above.”
Find a new page and write out James 1:17a.
Then, draw a simple t-chart with two columns. On one side, write “Generous Acts,” and on the other side, write “Perfect Gifts.”
Then, spend a couple of moments meditating on this verse, writing out some of the generous acts that others have done for you. Also, reflect on the generous acts you have done for others. Then, give God glory because those acts come from Him. Next, do the same thing regarding perfect gifts. List some of the perfect gifts you have given or received. Share gratitude with your Heavenly Father because those gifts come from above. Once you have written at least two items in each column, we can move on for today. But remember that you can come back another day and add generous acts or perfect gifts and give God glory all over again.
On the next page, write the following statement, “God, You are…”
Then, begin to list some of God’s incredible characteristics, showing Him honor for who He is. For example, you may write some formal and informal names such as abba, friend, or Jehovah Jireh. If you’d like to add Bible references, you may do that and might earn some bonus points. ;)
Alrighty, we’re finished with Day 2. Time to pray.
God,
Thank You for all the generous acts and perfect gifts we have been part of. You are holy God; help us see You when we go through all the seasons of life.
Amen
