DAY 2: EVANGELISM

Before the invention of streetlights, lamplighters walked the streets in the 16th century, manually lighting, extinguishing, and maintaining oil or gas lamps. They moved from one lamp to the next, individually setting each one aflame. In the same way, sharing the Gospel is about bringing light to dark places, one person at a time.

“How will people know about Jesus if we don’t tell them?”

Sharing the Gospel is like switching on a light—it helps people see the way forward, opening their eyes to the truth and guiding them toward an encounter with Jesus. Where there is light, people can see clearly.

When we share the good news we have come to know, love, and live by, we invite others into the joy of walking with Christ and through discipleship, they can grow and journey alongside us in the faith.

Luke 19:10
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus intentionally sought the one. He made time for people, shared the kingdom of God with them, and showed that everyone matters to Him. The parable of the lost sheep reminds us of God’s heart for the lost and His desire for all to be saved.

Rice Brooks puts it this way:
“The Gospel is the good news that God became man in Jesus Christ. He lived the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died—in our place. Three days later He rose from the dead, proving that He is the Son of God and offering the gift of salvation to those who repent and believe in Him.”

Sharing the Gospel is not optional; it’s a mandate and a privilege. The message of reconciliation and hope transforms lives and shines light into the darkness of this world. God’s heart is for His people to reach others, sharing the good news and inviting them into a relationship with Jesus and fellowship within the church community.
