Government of Peace

DAY 1 OF 5

Government of Peace.

Isaiah 60:17, "And I will make peace your governor and righteousness your magistrates" (Reina Valera 1977). In my mind, a government has been established that is ruled by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, by my beloved Jesus Christ. He has placed His government there, and it is a government of peace.

But what does the word government mean? It comes from the Greek word "kubernao" which means "to steer a ship" or "captain of a ship." It refers to directing or exercising control over something.

In Psalm 48:1,3, it speaks of the "city of our God, a beautiful mountain, the city of the great King. Within her walls are palaces, where God is known as a refuge." This city can represent our mind, where God desires to establish His complete government.

Imagine our mind as a city. A city has all kinds of structures, buildings, houses, parks, and stores; it also has forests, valleys, mountains, seas, rivers, flora and vegetation, and, of course, people who live in it. Each of these things has a meaning; in this symbolic case, we will treat it metaphorically so that we can understand why our mind needs walls, guards, gates, and many other things.

When God showed me my mind as a city, I understood that it was full of all kinds of things and that order and control had to be taken by someone. At that time, my emotions were in charge of everything that happened in my mind; God, in His infinite mercy, showed me that it should not be so, that by leaving the government in His hands, everything would change, everything would take order, joy, clear goals, and enjoyment of a mind-city in harmony...

Have you ever experienced your mind going from thought to thought all day long, and at the end of the day, you feel like you did nothing? You didn't enjoy everything that happened during the day; there was only complaining, sadness, or some kind of nervousness. This is because in your city mind, your emotion governs, and it often only reacts (Proverbs 25:28).

When Jesus Christ comes to rule in your mind, God makes strategies, forms new and beneficial habits in you, blesses every neuron that is there, and forms new paths for you to see solutions where everything seemed confusing to you. And He fills you with grace and strength to take out everything that is not convenient for your city, to clean each of those spaces, and to forgive and love again if necessary.

When you cry out to God and ask Him to govern your mind, He immediately places sentinels; they are guards who will defend you when thoughts of sadness, evil, and oppression come into your life. God does this through His Word, and they must be trained like any army soldier; God calls them to battle, but you must train them with the help and strength of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 62:6-7).

Day 2

About this Plan

Government of Peace

"When a new King reigns in the city of your mind," as Isaiah 60:17 says, "I will make peace your governor and righteousness your magistrates." In the city of my mind, a new kingdom has been established, ruled by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, my beloved Jesus Christ. He has established a reign of peace there.
