7 Powerful Prayers for Your KidsSample
Prayer for Wisdom
Wanting your children to be successful in life is a normal part of parenting. We long for our kids to do better than we did, learn from our mistakes, and figure out this adulting thing sooner.
This happens not because of our wisdom but God's.
A great way to introduce them to the wisdom of the Lord is to read God's Word to and with them. We can also ask our Father to help them be more like Jesus. We want them to grow in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man, as it says in Luke 2:52.
We need wisdom to raise these children, no matter their age. And because we never stop being parents, we need God to teach our kids for the rest of their lives. God says in Isaiah 54:13 that He will teach our children, and great will be their peace.
There is no better teacher than the Creator of the Universe!
Whether we are in a long line of prayer warriors or the start of that long line, he wants us to ask for wisdom for our parenting and our kids. In fact, he makes a covenant with us that His Spirit will not leave us, and the words he gives us will be on our lips and the lips of our children and children's children!
You can take that promise to the bank for your spiritual legacy!
Prayer for Wisdom: All-Knowing Father, thank you for giving us wisdom so freely in your Word! Please give ________________ a hunger and thirst for your words, and give me the wisdom to model the importance of reading and speaking your Word. Thank you for teaching them! Let your words be on our lips forever, as you promise! You are so good to us, and I'm grateful for your impact on my family legacy. Let us take your wisdom into the world and use it to build your Kingdom here on earth! In Jesus' name, amen.
