Fortified: A Week of Strength for MenSample
Faithfulness
Being thankful seems so obvious, but it’s easy to forget the importance of remembering God’s goodness and faithfulness in our lives. If you’ve ever found yourself caught up in worry, you know how simple it is to let your entire day be derailed by stress and anxiety. Maybe you carry the burden of providing for your family, or maybe you are in a season of life where your purpose is unclear. No matter your circumstances, there will always be a reason to worry about the future.
When doubt begins to creep in, remember the wonderful things God has done for you. Let his past faithfulness stir up hope for the future. He has loved you for all your days, and he will continue to do so. He has provided for you and sustained you, and he will not stop now. His promises do not have an expiry date, and his mercy knows no bounds. As you honor him and serve him with all your heart, he will be faithful to lead you through each season of your life.
Find some time today to start a gratitude list. Call to mind some of the great things that you’ve observed God doing in your life. Perhaps ask some friends or family members to brainstorm with you. To consider something is to carefully think about it. Don’t just rush through your list to accomplish the task. Instead, carefully consider God’s greatness in your life. Remember that every good gift comes from him. There is nothing that is too small to thank him for. From the breath in your lungs and the clothes on your back to a brief moment of joy or an incredible miracle, God’s hand is everywhere.
You are called to be a man who fears the Lord and worships him faithfully with all your heart. This becomes much easier to accomplish when you’re regularly thinking about all the great things God is doing in your life. Let gratitude motivate you to worship today.
