Day 1: Created for a Purpose

Every person is here for a reason. God’s Word reminds us that our lives are not accidents; we are crafted with intention and purpose. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us God knew us before we were even formed, setting us apart for His plans. Similarly, Ephesians 2:10 says we are God’s handiwork, created to do good works He prepared in advance. Yet, the world often distracts us with “shadow missions”—false pursuits rooted in comfort, ego, or self-gain. These missions may seem appealing, but they pull us away from God’s true calling. As John Ortberg reminds us, “You don’t get to choose your time; your time chooses you.” Esther’s rise to queen wasn’t random—it was part of God’s greater plan. Mordecai’s words, “...Who knows but that you have come to your position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14), remind us that we, too, are strategically placed by God to fulfill His purposes. Living with purpose requires intentionality, faith, and a willingness to embrace our God-given mission. Today, reflect on the truth that you are here on purpose and for a purpose.
