Divine Identity: Understanding God Through His Names

DAY 4 OF 7

Day 4: El Shaddai - God Almighty

El Shaddai conveys God’s omnipotence as Almighty God who possesses all power necessary for fulfilling His promises. This name first appears when God establishes His covenant with Abram (later Abraham), assuring him of descendants despite his old age.

Praying to El Shaddai reminds us that nothing is impossible for God; He can accomplish what seems unattainable by human standards. As we meditate on Genesis 17:1 during challenging times or when facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles—whether personal goals or spiritual growth—we draw strength from knowing that El Shaddai empowers us beyond limitations.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, El Shaddai, we come before You in awe of Your omnipotence and faithfulness. Thank You for the promise that nothing is impossible for You. As we reflect on Your covenant with Abram, help us to walk faithfully before You, trusting in Your plans for our lives. In moments of doubt or difficulty, remind us of Your power to fulfill every promise and to overcome every obstacle we face. Strengthen our faith and guide us in our journey towards spiritual growth and personal goals. We surrender our limitations to You, knowing that with You, all things are possible. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
