Prayers of the Bible

DAY 22 OF 32

Does it bring your joy, or cause you to pause, to know that you are fully known and fully loved?

To be known and loved, it is one of the best things in this world. Those moments when your friend remembers a tiny fact you don’t even remember telling them, and they act on that fact months later. Or when a family member senses that there is more going on than you let on and comes to your side to support and comfort you. And it always means so much doesn’t it?

More than anyone else Jesus knows you and loves you. He is always aware of what we need, our highs, our lows, our failings and our joys and loves us deeply. Get this, Jesus was on His way to the cross, and was preparing to die, He prayed and interceded for his believers. A work that He is still continuing today. Jesus doesn’t just remember what He knows about us. He remembers and He does something about it. Asking that we would be guarded, would have deep joy, that we would be sanctified in truth.

He knows what to ask for us, and He does.
He knows how to love us, and He does.

This can be an overwhelming reality, to be fully known and fully loved. However, God would not be the God we know, if this wasn’t true. And in a world where so many relationships are superficial, and community can be hard to form, we can find great comfort in knowing that the Creator of the universe knows you and loves you.

Today, ponder this: How does being fully known and fully loved by Jesus transform your prayers and relationship with him?
