Rejoice: Celebrating the Season of AdventSample
Week 1 Reflection Questions
- The Psalmist says: “Before I was afflicted I used to stray off, but now I keep your instructions…It was good for me to suffer so that I might learn your statutes.” (Psalm 119:67, 71) Can you say the same? Have you ever been drawn closer to God through hardships? What did you learn about God’s character during that time?
- Jesus says: “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) How have you experienced Jesus’ power and strength in your own life through the salvation found in Him alone?
- What tactics does Satan commonly use to distract, disengage, or deter you from daily walking with Christ? How can the truth of the Gospel help you fight the enemy’s lies?
- How are you allowing God to use you to serve His kingdom and accept whatever job He assigns to you? In what ways are you tempted to seek your own honor rather than that of Jesus?
- In what areas of your life do you need help today? How can you go to Jesus confidently, knowing that He is merciful, and ask Him specifically for help?
