How to Find Peace in God's PromisesSample
God Is Always With You
What is the biggest challenge you’re facing right now? Consider this for a moment.
The weight of life’s challenges can often feel crushing, leaving us anxious and unsure of where to turn, fully spent of our own energy, knowledge, and wisdom. In these moments, we long for stability, something or someone we can rely on.
The good news is that we don’t have to face any challenges alone. God has made us a promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. In Hebrews 13:5, this assurance is given with a bold, confident declaration: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” The God of the universe, who created everything and holds it all together, has committed to being with you always.
Think about that for a moment. The One who knows every detail of your life, who is all-powerful and all-knowing, has promised to be by your side. This means that no matter what happens, whether you’re going through a personal crisis, dealing with anxiety, or facing the unknown of the future, God is present throughout it all. He’s not distant, uninvolved, or indifferent to your struggles. He’s right there, walking with you through every valley and celebrating with you on every mountaintop.
You might not always feel God’s presence, especially during difficult seasons. Thankfully, His presence isn’t dependent on how you feel or your circumstances. Even when you can’t sense Him, He’s still there, as faithful as ever. God is not like people who may come and go from your life. He doesn’t break His promises, and He doesn’t abandon His children.
In Deuteronomy 31:6, God speaks these words to the Israelites as they prepare to face the unknown territory ahead of them: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." The same God who reassured the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land speaks the same message to you today. You don’t have to fear the future because He’s going ahead of you, beside you, and behind you.
So today, whether life is calm or you’re in the midst of a storm, take heart. God is with you. He has promised never to leave you, and He keeps His promises. Trust in His faithful presence and allow it to bring you the peace and assurance you need, knowing that you are never alone.
Reflection:
We live in a world filled with anxiety and fear, but God’s Word assures us of His constant presence. Even when we feel alone or distant from Him, He remains close. His love is unwavering and His presence – constant.
- Reflect on a time you felt God's presence most clearly in your life. How did that experience shape your faith?
- What areas of your life are you struggling to believe that God is truly present in?
- How does the promise that God will never leave or forsake you change the way you view difficult situations?
Application:
Take a moment today to thank God for His presence in your life. Reflect on times when you felt His nearness, even when things seemed hopeless. Commit to trusting Him, knowing that He’s with you through every trial.
- What can you do this week to remind yourself of God's constant presence, especially in moments of anxiety or fear?
- Is there a specific area of your life where you need to surrender your fears to God and trust that He is with you?
- How can you share the assurance of God's presence with someone else who might be feeling distant from Him?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your unwavering love and steadfast presence. I know sometimes life is unpredictable and difficult, and there are moments when I feel completely out of control, but even then, Your promise remains true: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” You are always with me.
Help me to remember this truth in my moments of doubt and fear, especially when anxieties rise or the weight of my life feels overwhelming. Remind me that You are the steady rock amidst any storm, a constant presence by my side. Grant me peace and assurance that even in the darkest valleys, I am not alone.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
