Dually Devoted – a Devotional for Bivocational Pastors and Leaders.Sample
Since Bivocational pastors often lack the time and resources to meet all expectations, delegation becomes essential. Empowerment is not just a strategy but a necessity. By inviting others to join us on this journey, we open the door for them to experience growth and learning far beyond what they would as mere observers.
While some may see this as a threat to their personal ministry, it actually provides an opportunity to focus one’s energies. Inviting others into ministry exposes them to the dynamics of relationships, beliefs, conflict resolution, and more, creating space for God to work in them as He did in us when we first began serving.
Replicating ourselves and allowing fellow ministers to mature and grow is crucial not only for us but for the body of Christ as a whole. By helping each person find their place in the body of Christ, we become builders rather than obstacles to the roles God has called them to.
Even Jesus couldn’t reach everyone during His earthly ministry, but He invested in 12 disciples who extended His reach far beyond His individual scope. By inviting others to join Him in ministry, He provided leadership for the church for generations to come. Eventually, the church will outlive our earthly existence, and it will need people to step in and fill our roles.
But why wait until the end when it may be too late? We can begin to encounter companionship in ministry now and celebrate with a small community who will invest with us in raising more leaders. This creates a healthier environment and allows others to express their love through service.
