Biblically Navigating Finances in Uncertain TimesSample
Hey Friend,
I don’t have to tell you that we live in times of financial uncertainty.
And in times like these, it's natural to feel anxious.
Our minds race with "what-ifs" and worst-case scenarios.
And if this is what you are experiencing now, I want to encourage you in the word and remind you of some things the Bible calls us to do with our finances, even in the midst of uncertainty.
Jesus speaks directly to our worries in Matthew 6:25-26, saying, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"
I love this imagery.
In some of my most desperate moments of needing God’s provision, I have found myself watching the birds out my back window as God reminded me of this verse.
And then Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
So now, let’s take a moment to list our specific financial worries.
Then, turn each one into a prayer, asking God for wisdom, provision, and peace.
But remember, regardless of what it looks like on paper, God's peace doesn't depend on our bank balances. It's available to us right now, in the midst of our uncertainty.
Let’s trust in His care, seek His wisdom, and take faithful steps forward.
