Seeking God

DAY 5 OF 5

In the Bible, God tells us repeatedly that he will guide us on the right path when we seek his will for our lives. And his will is the best way for our lives. Too often, we look for guidance elsewhere - from things or people who don’t know God. But the Apostle Paul tells us not to copy the behavior and ways of the world. Instead, we should let God change us so that we will know what his will for us is, “which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Make the time to study God’s word every day. His guidance and promises for our lives show up throughout the pages of the Bible. And in studying God’s word, you will begin to know his heart. Knowing who God truly is will give us understanding of who he wants us to be. As Jesus said, “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” (John 14:21)

Consider how you can be more attentive to God’s leading and ask him to show the way and to put people in your life who will help. Remember, seeking God’s wisdom is less about finding answers and more about receiving guidance along the way.
