Kingdom Impact: The Power of the 4 W's

DAY 4 OF 4

WEALTH:

Bible Verse: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17 (ESV)

There's a lot of misunderstanding about wealth and its place in the Christian life. Some people believe it's a sign of God's blessing, while others see it as a sin. The truth lies somewhere in between.

The Dangers of Money

The Bible doesn't condemn wealth itself, but it does warn against the love of money. As Paul writes in 1 Timothy 6:9-11, the desire for riches can lead to temptation, greed, and spiritual ruin. Money, when idolized, can become the root of all kinds of evil.

Money as a Tool

However, money is simply a tool. Its morality depends on how it's used. Aaron's golden calf was used as a means of idolatry, but King David used his wealth to invest back into God’s Kingdom. We are entrusted to be stewards of the resources the Lord brings into our possession.

Stewardship and Godly Use

As followers of Christ, we are called to be good stewards of our resources. This means using our wealth to glorify God and bless others. Whether it's supporting our families, helping the needy, or investing in things that further God's kingdom, our finances can be a powerful tool for good.

A Godly Perspective

Creating wealth isn't wrong, but it must be done with a Godly perspective. Our true treasure is our relationship with God, not our possessions. When we prioritize God and use our resources wisely, we can honor Him and make a positive impact on the world.

Let's not be afraid to create wealth, but let's do so with a Godly perspective. May our finances be a means of glorifying God, blessing others, and furthering His kingdom.

Reflection Question:

How has the world’s perspective on wealth shaped your understanding and pursuit of it? In what ways does the Bible’s teaching on wealth challenge or reinforce your current beliefs?
