Healing From Domestic AbuseSample
Restoring your Soul
Focus: God can restore your soul and guide you toward a new path. Even though you may feel lost, God's healing and restorative power works in you.
Scripture: He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake." (Psalm 23:3)
God's Healing Power
What does it feel like to have your soul restored? Do you imagine the light "crack" of a soda can when it's first opened or deep-flowing water? Refreshing.
Life can sometimes leave us feeling drained, broken, and far from the person we once were. Domestic violence is a painful experience. It can leave our souls battered and worn. It's easy to feel lost in those moments, wondering if we'll ever return to wholeness and peace.
But God, in His infinite love and grace, is a God of restoration. He sees the broken places in our lives and knows how to heal them. Psalm 23:3 beautifully captures this promise: "He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake." God cannot only restore what has been lost or damaged; He also guides us to new paths, leading us toward healing, righteousness, and a life full of His peace.
Have you ever felt you've lost something essential—your joy, peace, sense of purpose, or self-worth? It's in those moments that God's restoring power becomes most evident. He doesn't just patch up the broken pieces; He brings complete restoration, making us whole again.
We need God's healing touch and invitation to a new path. No matter how lost or damaged you may feel, know that God's healing power is at work in you, leading you to a place of wholeness, peace, and truth.
God is Actively Restoring You
We all experience seasons when we need restoration—times when our souls feel weary and our spirits are burdened. Whether it's due to personal trials, emotional wounds, or the cumulative stress of life, our souls can become depleted. God is not a distant observer; He actively restores our souls and guides us toward healing and righteousness.
God is a restorer. He doesn't just fix the surface issues—He goes deep, healing the wounds within you and guiding you to a new path of wholeness.
Questions:
- What areas of your life do you need God to restore?
- How can you let go and allow God to guide you on the path of healing and righteousness?
Challenge: Write down at least three areas in your life that you want to see God restore (examples: family, joy, peace, self-worth). Ask God to restore you in these areas.

About this Plan
Domestic violence is the systematic way one person tries to gain power and control over another person physically, emotionally, sexually, spiritually, economically, or psychologically. It is not God's desire for human beings to interact with one another in this way. Instead, God calls everyone to love each other, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
