Pray for America

DAY 1 OF 15

Pray for the Primacy of God

Prayer is a powerful and effective way we can be salt and light. By God answering the prayers of His people for our nation, we can help preserve good heritages, heal wounds from past injustices and divisions, and illuminate the ways of love and truth.

There are 15 topics we invite you to join us in praying for. Each will feature a friend of ours who will lead us in prayer for that topic. We're honored and excited to see God answer our prayers in these areas!

Our first topic is simple but profound: Who or what is number one? Every individual—as well as each elected position, branch of government, political party, lobby group, etc.—has a core value that is of the utmost importance.

For the nation of Israel, Deuteronomy 6:4-9 exhorted them to make God number one. Who God is and how He wanted them to live was supposed to be the most important part of the family, each individual's way of thinking, and how they presented themselves to others. Unfortunately, so much of the rest of the Bible describes how the Israelites did not value God as they were supposed to. We see similar consequences befall any nation whose leaders and populace put more importance on things other than God.

When it comes to our nation, when God is not in the highest place in our hearts, a lot of what we want for America gets mixed up and messed up.

Let's ask for God's forgiveness for any times and ways we've placed other things above Him so we can love Him with all our heart, all our soul, and all our strength. Then, not only will we see greater and newer measures of healing and transformation for our country, but we'll also fulfill one of the first prayers of America's dedication in stronger ways!

We do hereby dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the People within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up Godly generations after us, and with these generations take the Kingdom of God to all the earth.
- The Reverend Robert Hunt (Cape Henry, Virginia, 1607)
Day 2

About this Plan

Pray for America

As Christians, we must unite and dedicate time to praying for our country and for our leaders. America was built on prayer and we know that God will hear our prayers. Please join CBN and Christians across the country in 15 days of prayer for America.
