Do you have a friend or family member who excels at hospitality? They do more than just open their homes to host others. They go the extra mile! They’re the people who always have welcome gifts, extra clothes or toiletries for overnight guests, or special touches that make you feel seen, known, and valued the minute you walk in the door. That kind of hospitality is truly a gift! While we may not all have that specific wiring, we all can offer hospitality to the people in our lives.
We can provide warmth, kindness, generosity, openness, and friendship to the people in our lives in all kinds of ways. In the way we include others, in the words we speak to others, in the way we notice others, in the way we care for others—all that and more is part of true hospitality. It’s how we make people feel, how we show they have value just for who they are. More than that, it’s part of the way we love others deeply and follow God’s call on our lives.
Today, pray that God would show you what hospitality looks like for you. How can you provide that kind of love and openness to someone in your life? Challenge yourself to love others deeply by showing them hospitality.

About this Plan

Few things in life are more important than breathing. It’s what keeps us going and living. This isn’t a devotional on the science of breathing. Instead, we’re talking about what it looks like to create breathing room in parts of our everyday lives. From faith to finances to friendship to so much more, we’re diving into the benefits of slowing down, pausing, and giving these areas of our lives room to breathe.
