Happily Ever After: And Everything BeforeSample
In our everyday lives, it’s easy to get caught up in our concerns, desires, and feelings. Because of that, we often put ourselves first without even realizing it or seeing how that might impact others. However, as Paul writes to the Philippians, we are called to practice humility—to look beyond ourselves and see the worth, needs, and feelings of the people around us. When we choose to value others as equally important to ourselves, we create an environment where everyone feels seen and respected. We create a space where everyone is free to be honest about who they are, what they’re going through, and what they feel.
Is there someone in your life who may need you to put them first? Someone who could use your support, encouragement, and friendship? Whoever that is, make an effort to reach out, spend time with them, or encourage them. It’s a small way to make others feel seen and cared for in their everyday lives, just as we want to be in ours.
