How to Share Your FaithSample
A Big Happy Family
Have you been to a good wedding lately?
I love watching the groom’s face as the bride enters. I marvel at the community that comes together. I salivate over the food. I’m a pizza guy, so I really dig the recent trend of ordering pizza partway through the dance!
In the final days, the Church, which will include people from all nations, tribes, and languages, will marry the Lamb.
I think about this weekly when I fast; one reason for my fasting is to increase my expectations of the feast we’ll have at that final wedding! Imagine the joy of that day! Imagine life with God and His people in a world with no more suffering, sickness, and death (Revelation 21:4).
Sharing our faith is part of preparing for that day. There are so many people God longs to see at His wedding feast. They can refuse, but He will persist in inviting them.
Will we join Him?
I hope you’ve been encouraged to think more deeply about sharing your faith this week.
More than that, I hope you've shared your faith. I hope you’ve prayed for open doors and uttered the Name of Jesus with a smile.
There will be a big, happy family at the wedding supper of the Lamb. As happens with family weddings, there’s work for us to do before that day. It’s joyful work; the more you talk about Jesus with others, the more you’ll realize how much of a gift it is to share the Gospel.
I pray your hearts, words, and deeds increasingly exude Jesus and His love.
I pray you know the Father's glory and the Spirit’s power in your daily life.
Don’t give up, and don’t be afraid to take some risks.
The wedding supper is coming, and God is actively working to prepare for it.
Will we join Him in getting the word out?
“A great deal more failure is the result of an excess of caution than of bold experimentation with new ideas. The frontiers of the Kingdom of God were never advanced by men and women of caution.” J. Oswald Sanders
Prayer: Jesus, show me where I can join You in Your wedding preparations. Fill me with expectation and longing for that day, and help me enjoy the work of inviting others to come. Amen.
Reflection: Make a list of 10 people you long to see at the Lamb’s wedding feast. Ask God if there are any steps or risks He’s inviting you to take toward sharing your faith with them. If not, relax. He will have work for you another day soon. If so, take the step!
