When I Feel I'm Not Good Enough
The God of people on the periphery of society
He is the God of David, the king who committed adultery and murder. The man who shed so much blood that God refused to let David build a temple for Him. Yet the Bible calls David a man after God's own heart.
God is also the God of the Syro-Phoenician woman. Jesus laid down his life for this woman. She was willing to eat even just the "crumbs" that fell from the children's table, but he gave her much more. He is the God of the robber on the cross. He is the God of the lepers, the outcasts, and the unclean of society. He is the God who does not break the snapped cane and does not extinguish the dim, smoking lamplit.
Which of us is so much different from Jacob, David, the lepers, Judah, Rahab and Peter? We all went astray as sheep; we each went our own way, but the Lord caused the sins of all of us to fall upon him (Isaiah 53:6). Paul writes I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do. Instead, I keep on doing the evil I do not want to do... After all, it is written, "There is no one righteous, not even one" (Romans 7:18-19 and 3:10).
About this Plan
All of us go through life with much pain, failures, and regrets. So often, we despair of ourselves. We come to a point where we do not feel useful or worthy and also think even God will not waste His time with us. May the following Scriptures and devotions be helpful to you.
