Day 4: The Last Supper
The next few days were busy!
On Monday, Jesus went to the Temple. It was packed with people, but they weren't there to worship God. They were there to change money and sell doves! Jesus was furious. He knocked over their tables and chased them away!
On Tuesday Jesus returned to the Temple to teach.
And on Thursday, it was finally time for the Passover:
Jesus gathered with his disciples that evening and told them, "I've eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer." He gave them bread and said, "This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me."
Next, Jesus took a cup of wine, "This is my blood, poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I will not drink again until the kingdom of God comes." The disciples quietly took the bread and wine.
What do you think Jesus meant? Why do we take communion in church?
