Consecration - 14 Days of Prayer & FastingSample
For my Family | Ps Deb Lenzo
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Acts 16:30
What looked to the Jailer as possibly the worst day of his life, was supernaturally turned around in a matter of moments, on the one night that Paul and Silas were imprisoned in his care (Acts 16:25-34). His heart-wrenching cry shows that he has had a deep personal revelation of the reality of God. You sense his courage as he calls for help.
Paul and Silas prophesy into his situation, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved - you and your household." The promise was not just for his own life but for all those he held dear. Within hours, the Jailer's whole family were baptised. "..he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God - he and his whole household" (v34b).
The courage of one person to take a step of faith and commitment in the purposes of God, ripples in influence, impacting others in ways beyond our imagining. Your willingness to acknowledge God's sovereignty opens a door for your family just as it did for the Macedonian Jailer. I imagine he never thought it was possible until God actually did it!
You might think your family is beyond God's reach, but is anything too hard for God? (Jeremiah 32:27). Lean into His presence today, respond to Him with faith, obedience and prayer and trust Him with those who are important to you. We are standing with you as you pray today, believing for the salvation and well-being of your family.
Prayer Focus:
- Spend time in worship, focusing your attention on Jesus
- Bring your family and their needs to God in prayer - especially salvation
- Ask the Lord to help you see them from His perspective and love them as He does
- Listen to the Holy Spirit and take note of anything that God challenges you to adjust in your own behaviour for the benefit of your family
- Thank God for His supernatural work in your family and their future
About this Plan
