DAY 2 OF 5

You Already Have All You Need

Do you feel you have everything needed to accomplish your plan?

I've listened to gifted sports and business leaders who say, "We’d be more successful if we had more ... more equipment, more volunteers, or more money.” However, when we focus on what we lack, our fear, anxiety, and stress increase.

It is a rare local team or individual who says we have all we need. How would this look?

Stop and think about this in a New Testament context. We don’t find comments in the New Testament such as, "We don’t have enough donkeys to travel and accomplish the Great Commission." Or "We are short on tents while we travel to share our faith." Ask yourself – how did they accomplish so much when they didn't have the means of travel, technology, and all the resources we have today?

We have all the same important things they had two thousand years ago. They went with the Holy Spirit and a team of disciple-makers around them.

Though the harvest seems overwhelming, there are more workers now than at any time in history. Can you accomplish your vision with today's people, resources, and trust?

We prepared a sports outreach on the beach. We took no sports equipment – just ourselves with our passion for Jesus and sport. We organized two teams that acted like there was a ball being kicked and defended against, with goalkeepers blocking non-existent shots. As the crowd kept growing, the team broke into small groups and shared their faith. It was amazing!

It may be helpful for your team to create a sports outreach with no equipment. Learn to be more creative with what you have.

Try this. Go out for 24-48 hours with no money or food to knock on strangers' doors and look for a person God has prepared for your visit.

Scripture to Ponder – Habakkuk 3:19

"The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer. He enables me to tread on the heights."

Key Lesson: Learn to be more creative with what you have. The key is building disciples who can go with little or with much.
