Strength to Soar by Toni LaShaunSample
Hope and Healing
What do you do when it seems all hope is lost? How do you find a reason to rejoice when you feel attacked and shattered? How do you drown out the doubt? Remember that God is your Source of hope, joy, and peace.
We are not just waiting on God. We should be actively waiting: reading, praying, listening, seeking. That is how we hold on to hope; not desperately, but expectantly. We hold on to God's Promises. And, God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19). So, we can expect to see His promises fulfilled. Not only can we expect His Promises to be fulfilled, but they will exceed our wildest imagination (Ephesians 3:20)!
As we reflect on the hope we have in Jesus, the Holy Spirit gave me this acronym to help us remember that hope in times of discouragement and disappointment, when we feel shaken or shattered, when we feel attacked or anxious.
HOPE
Holding
Onto
Promises
Expectantly
When we're concerned about relationship status, when we feel like we're running out of time to see dreams become reality, when we're overwhelmed by whether or not we're doing enough with the gifts God has given us, we can hold on to His Promises.
- God will work everything out for my good and His glory (Romans 8:28)
- God will fulfill His plans on time (Isaiah 60:22)
- God will never stop loving me (Romans 8:38-39)
This is not even close to a full list of promises. The Bible has so many promises to encourage and uplift us. I encourage you to find some promises of God that speak life to you. I know when I press in to the promises, pray these promises, persevere with these promises in mind, I feel lighter. I feel like I could float on air! I feel like I can fly as high as an eagle. That is what Isaiah is encouraging us to do in chapter 40.
No matter how hopeless the situation seems, we serve a God of Hope, Who cannot and will not fail! Wait expectantly on God and experience new strength! Strength to soar!!!
I'll leave you with the words of Paul because I couldn't say it any better…
I pray that God, the Source of Hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then, you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Lord, as we wait on You and find our hope in You, replenish our supply of grace each day, renew our strength and refresh our souls. We trust You and You alone! In the Powerful and Righteous Name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
Listen to the song that inspired this devotion. I pray it blesses your soul! Strength To Soar
About this Plan
This devotion and the song, Strength To Soar, provide the opportunity to find hope and encouragement in the strength that only God can give while we wait on Him.
