God's Redemption Story (The Prophets)Sample
Zechariah
Zechariah’s message may seem dull and familiar—stop sinning and obey God—but he also delivers a new brand of encouragement. At the time of Zechariah’s ministry, Judah had already been taken to Babylon and then allowed to return and rebuild the temple. But the work is hard and makes the neighbors angry, so the people quit building. In Zechariah 8, God tells the people He punished Israel for a reason, but His new purpose is for them to finish the temple so the nations will see God’s power and ask them how to get to God.
Has God asked you to do something hard and you’ve been dragging your feet on finishing the work? When we allow God to work through us to do something hard, we show others how strong and glorious He is. Ask Him today for the strength and commitment to finish what He has called you to do.
