The Gospel of MarkSample

The final part of the chapter warns against temptation to sin. Jesus makes his warning very clear - sin is deadly. We should do whatever we can to avoid it at all costs. The fear of God is like salt, it means we carry something different: “You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth” (Matthew 5:13, MSG). A Christian who has lost their saltiness is to be avoided!
However much temptation you are facing, or feel you are missing the mark, you can get back on the right track today! Jesus is ready to forgive, heal, restore. Remember, he came down the mountain! Take time to ask for the “salt” to come back into your life. Reach out to a trusted friend or pastor. Cut off anything that is keeping you from Jesus’ best.
