1 & 2 Timothy Sample
We can be mocked because we believe in a risen Savior. Some people might think we are odd, weird, or strange. When they do, we must have compassion on them because they don’t understand the reason for our hope and joy. We weren’t made for this world. We are all immigrants waiting to go home. Life here is going to feel foreign at times, and our hearts are going to ache for the land in which we belong. Suffering in various forms will come, as it did for Paul, Timothy, and thousands of other Christians who came before us. Expect it, but don’t let it defeat you. You have a holy calling on your life. You were not made for this world, so why do you struggle to fit in? God has an amazing purpose for your life. Lean into the Holy Spirit for His direction, wisdom, and loving grace.
Dear Jesus,
Strengthen me and give me courage on days when I want to shrink back. Remind me of who I am, the greater purpose You have on my life, and Your promise to never leave me. Help me to guard the deposit of Your truth that You have given to our generation. Help me to pass it on to my children and teach them to pass it on to their children. On my good and bad days, help me to remember that I was not made for this world… And that one day I’ll be going home. Until that time, teach me to number my days and work in the field You have given me. Amen.

About this Plan
After an encounter with Jesus, Paul was radically changed. This change led him to plant churches, go on missions, and write much of the New Testament. Two of the books he penned were letters written to a young man named Timothy. Paul wrote regarding church leadership and ministry perseverance that are powerful reminders to us today as we seek to stand firm with faith in an ungodly world.
