Avoiding Worldly Love

To live a set-apart life, next, we must avoid worldly love.

Even though we may see the things of the world on full display around us, today's passage reminds us the values of today's culture should not define believers. We should be shaped by Jesus' values and the truth we find in the Word of God. We should not become someone who chooses to defend the habits, teachings, or cultural practices of the world but we are called to defend the Word of God and the principles God has called us to live by. As believers, our love or passion should not be for what today's culture has to offer, but for what God desires from us, as His people.
