Loving Your Body: Discovering Eternal BeautySample
Are you feeling good in this fight?! I know how hard you are working to form new pathways in your brain and to walk away from the lies into the truth. I am so proud of you and I know you have what it takes to complete the final step of the battle plan!
Typically, in a battle, if you’re running away you’re probably losing. BUT, God’s Kingdom and the spiritual world aren’t like this physical world. That’s why step three is to flee to freedom. We are going to flee from the things that hold us back so that we are free to do what God is calling us to do.
I don’t know what habits you currently have that influence you to linger too long on a “flaw” or to spiral out in your mind or even to skip a meal or overeat, but I do know my own habits and hangups that have kept me from loving my body and using it for the purposes God has given me. I want to share some things that I’ve had to flee from at different times in my life:
- Wearing certain clothes that made me “feel” beautiful, but that didn’t glorify God
- Unfollowing people on social media or even deleting the apps entirely to purify my mind and what I was putting in my heart
- Simplifying beauty routines and self-care so I could spend more time doing things that matter to the Lord
- Cutting out certain foods from my diet that left me feeling yucky both emotionally and physically and ultimately influenced me to restrict or believe lies about myself and my body
Today’s challenge is to identify any habits that you can flee from and to create boundaries and a plan to stay away from those traps.
Here’s the best part: you’re not just fleeing from something “bad”, you are actually creating space to have freedom in your life to do the things God has called you to! It’s not loving your body just for the sake of it, it’s loving your body SO THAT you can love God more wholly and honor Him. As you move through this completed battle plan of confession, learning God’s truth, and fleeing to freedom I have no doubt that God will speak into your life. I want you to have the freedom to be able to do whatever it is that God is calling you to.
